In the last ten years, Erick Lichte has carved out a distinct niche in the vocal music world and concert life in America.

From 2000-2009, Lichte’s programming and artistic direction was heard in over 60 concerts a year in such venues as Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, Merkin Hall, to name a few.  He has collaborated with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, the Boston Pops, The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, James Sewell Ballet and poet Robert Bly.

His work with Cantus garnered the 2009 Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence, the highest honor for the professional choral organization Chorus America. 

Lichte has been a part of the creation of over 50 new compositions. Composers Lichte has worked with include Lee Hoiby, Gavin Bryars, Steven Sametz and Peteris Vasks. 

As a record producer, Lichte has been at the helm of eight highly acclaimed recordings.  He is also an ardent audiophile and writes equipment reviews for Stereophile magazine. 

This season Lichte serves as Artistic Director of the Great River Chorale, an auditioned 50 voice ensemble based in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  He is also on faculty at Augsburg College and the University of St. Catherine in the Twin Cities and will prepare the professional chorus of Chicago’s Music of the Baroque.

Peter Rothstein works extensively as a director of theater, musical theater, opera and new work development. He is the Founding Artistic Director of Theater Latté Da, a Twin Cities-based company dedicated to new musical theater. Directing highlights include Evita, Old Wicked Songs and the world premiere of Passage of Dreams for Theater Latté Da, M. Butterfly and Private Lives for the Guthrie Theater, Doubt for Ten Thousand Things and the world premiere of Disney’s High School Musical for the Children’s Theatre Company. He is the creator of All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, which premiered in a live broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio. Peter has been named one of Minnesota’s Artists of the Year by the Star Tribune, Theater Artist of the Year by Lavender Magazine, and the Best Director in the Twin Cities by City Pages. He has been awarded grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, Theater Communications Group, the Minnesota State Arts Board and the McKnight Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Theater from St. John’s University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Directing from University of Wisconsin – Madison.

(Lawrence Journal-World), the music of Timothy C. Takach is rapidly gaining momentum in the concert world. Applauded for his melodic lines and rich, intriguing harmonies, Takach has written over 60 commissions for various organizations including the St. Olaf Choir, Cantus, Pavia Winds, the Bowling Green State University Men’s Chorus, The Singers: Minnesota Choral Artists, the Cherry Creek High School Meistersingers, the New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus and the Western Michigan University Chorale. His compositions have been heard on NPR and have been recorded by various groups in North America.

The 2007 Texas and the 2009 Florida All-State Choirs performed his piece “The Darkling Thrush,” and his arrangement of
“What Child is This” was featured on the 2007 Boston Pops holiday tour. His arrangement of “Twas in the Moon of Wintertime” was included in a 2006 worldwide Christmas radio broadcast. Takach has received grants from the American Composers Forum, the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council,
Meet the Composer and yearly ASCAP awards since 2004.

Takach received a BA in Music Theory and Composition at
St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, where he graduated with honors. He lives in Minneapolis and sings with the professional male vocal ensemble, Cantus.
